NOTICE!
The Burnet County Home Circle Society was organized last March, about
eight months ago, and has had only two deaths, Mr. Don Turner of Marble Falls, killed, and Mr. J. W. Page of Briggs who died from natural causes, which is a very low death rate on 750 members.
We now have a few vacancies mainly on account
of members removing from the county and neglecting to send in their
assessment. New applications are pouring in...

Bertram Briefs
- Cotton picking is about over in
this section. About one half of the crop has been sold.
Some small grain has been sown, but the fall acreage will be light.
- Business of all kinds is good and everybody cheerful.
- Several new buildings are to be erected soon.
- Mr. E. L. Rogers, our hotel man, is down with typhoid fever, but doing very well.
- Horace Landrum who has been suffering for several weeks, from blood poisoning is still very low.
- Al V. Riley returned Monday from seeing the big Fair at St. Louis.
- Mr. Charley Goslin and wife left Tuesday for Austin, their future home. Their many friends here regret this move.
- Mesdames R. F. Dennis and S. M. Sanford
entertained their Sunday School pupils at the home of Mrs. Dennis,
Monday afternoon from 4 to 6. Refreshments were served and the
little tots report a delightful time.
- Messrs. H. W. Day and H. T. Jones
two of Bertram's worthy citizens, with their families left last week
for Lufkin, Tex. The best wishes of their many friends follow
them to their new home.
- L. R. Gray, F. A. Hibler, Jno. A. Jones and R. H. McFarlin spent a couple of days out on a deer hunt last week. They bagged a large antler.
- Rev. M. J. Allen
left Friday last for Willow City, his new field of labor. His
family followed him on Tuesday. Bro Allen and family endeared
themselves to the people of Bertram and community, regret their
departure. Best wishes follow them.
