has sold his crop and is on the road for Falls county. He has
lived in these parts for thirty-one years and has seen many drouths,
but this one moves him.

Mrs. Emily Phelps and her son, George, have struck the road for the land of promise in New Mexico.

Mr. Albert Houston has sold his crop and gone to railroading at Graphite.

Mr. B. B. Chamberlain has moved to Valley Spring, where he will teach next year.

Mr. Joe Duckett is in Llano caring for his grandmother Askew, who is helpless from a broken hip.

Mr. P. T. Beard one night last week lost his store and residence by fire. It was well insured, so he is rebuilding.

Holiness meeting at Bertram has closed. There seems to be some
division among them concerning the gift of tongues. Some claim to
have it, while others denounce it, as of sinister origin.
