| Rev. Noble passed through Burnet and stopped to meet a few old friends. He was enroute to his home in Waxahachie. |

| Mr. and Mrs. Hansford Stapp and children returned Monday from Sabinal, where they spent a day or two visiting Rev. and Mrs. Troy Brooks. |
Misses Whitehead and Alger of Crystal City, spent the first part of last week in Burnet visiting Miss Ethel Guthrie. |

| Many
places in Burnet County were visited by heavy showers and some places by
good rains last week, while other sections, including the sections close
to Burnet had only sprinkles. Where good rains fell, a fair corn crop
will be made, but it will be short shere no rain fell. |
Mrs. John Donovan is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Y. J. Foulds. Mr. Donovan is at work on the great Boulder Dam. Before her marriage Mrs. Donovan was Miss Alba Foulds, and she has numerous friends in Burnet who are delighted to see her again. |

| Those who attended the base ball game at Liberty Hill last Sunday report a car accident one
mile east of that place early Sunday morning in which a young man, the sole
occupant of the car, was burned to death after he had struck a culvert, which
wrecked his automobile, setting fire to same, which burned the young man
so severely that he died while being taken to a hospital at Austin. It
is stated that the car was loaded with various articles, including several
cans of gasoline, and it was the explosion of this gasoline with which the
young man became saturated when the car overturned that caused his death.
It is reported that the unfortunate young man was from Athens and was
on his way to Bertram to visit. It is presumed that he went to sleep while driving, which caused him to hit the side of the culvert. |
