MRS. TURNER IS DEAD

Mrs. Mary P. Turner, a former citizen of Marble Falls, died in Austin last Sunday morning.  The body was shipped here on Monday and laid to rest in the City Cemetery, beside her husband, the late Geo. S. Turner.   Mrs. Turner had been in ill health for months, and her death, though a shock to the relatives and friends, was not unexpected.  The body was accompanied by and Mrs. Manley Turner and Mrs. Nella T. Evans of Austin and Mrs. Don Turner of Dallas.

Deceased was born in Georgia, September 16th, 1828.  She came to Texas in early days and has since made her home in the State she loved.  She was married at the age of 20.  Many years of her life were spent on the "Turner Farm" a few miles south of town.  From there she moved to Marble Falls, and five years ago removed to Austin.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Baptist church at this place and was a consistent Christian.  She was charitable, kind and forgiving.  Many are the acts of charity performed by her that the world knew not of, and we are sure that she will be richly rewarded in the world to come therefor.  In the death of this splendid woman the Baptist Church loses a faithful member--one that will be missed by the membership, but the good deeds done will live after her.

Deceased is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Manley Turner,  and a grand daughter, Mrs. Nella T. Evans, with whom she made her home, and who did everything it was possible for human hands to do to make her reclining days happy.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. W. R. Hornburg, pastor of the Baptist Church.  Some favorite songs of the deceased were sung and a special chapter read at the grave.

The Messenger joins the many friends in extending condolence to the sorrowing relatives.
