Logan VANDEVEER

- the son of William and Emily Shackleford Vandeveer

- was born c. 1815 in Kentucky

- married Lucinda Mays in 1838, Bastrop County

- was a private in Mina Volunteers during the Texas Revolution

- supplied meat to Ft. Croghan

- served the community as first postmaster, commissioner, opening the first school

- father of 6 children:
Eliza, Mary, William, Andrew, Sarah, Emma, and Lucinda

- died 1855 in Louisiana
