Three sisters, members of a family living in Burnet County for six generatiions, signed applications Friday afternoon to become charter members of the
United Daughters of the Confederacy
at the Herman Brown Free Library.

The sisters are, from left,

Helen Wright Smith
Laura Wright Koonce
and
Mary Wright Tarlton

whose applications have been sent to the UDC organization.  The new chapter is a reorganization of one formed in 1906.

The former chapter and the newly instituted one are named for
Confederate General Adam R. Johnson.
