Albert Carver was the nephew of Abraham Carver and this cemetery is located at the intersection of Masters Rd. and Bruton Rd., on the southeast corner.
Albert and Daniel Carver followed their uncles Abraham and Solomon to Dallas in 1849. Born in Illinois, they were brought up by their uncle Moses in Missouri. (Scientist George Washington Carver was a slave on the same plantation, also raised by Moses.) Albert traded his horse for 300 acres and settled down to farm and raise cattle.
He donated the land at the southwest corner or Bruton Road and Masters Drive for the Greenwood School. Albert and his wife had five sons, all of whom are buried in the cemetery established in 1885. Albert was buried there in 1911. Tonya Bickham, a sixth-generation Carver, unveiled the Texas State Historical Marker in 1985
