Where We Are
Dallas County is in the northeast part of Texas and
contains a big part of the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex. The Austin Chalk
Formation (aka White Rock Escarpment), rises 230 ft and runs roughly
north-south through Dallas County. The county seat and largest city
is Dallas, roughly centered in the county. The Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex
is home to roughly 1/4 of the citizens of Texas. Our geographical neighbors,

County in the northwest,
Collin County
in the north, Rockwall
and Kaufman counties
in the east, Ellis County
in the south and Tarrant
County in the west.
