History & Civil War Dorman Holub is no longer able to do lookups for book which is a memorial and biographical history of Dallas Co., but has provided an index perhaps you can find it at the Dallas library. As an example, the book lists soldiers who fought in the Civil War from Dallas Co. according to info turned in to the compilers of the book in 1891 or earlier. Since the war was fresh on their minds, the list could be fairly accurate. The book also contains voluminous amounts of biographical info evidently sent in for those who settled in Dallas Co. in 1846 and also details the towns and their beginnings from an 1891 standpoint.

USGenWeb Lookup Policy

The USGenWeb Project does not allow copyright violations. Lookup requests should be limited to one or two names. Information given will be minimal. For example in a cemetery lookup, the information given will be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone. Please do not ask for "everybody with X surname" or an entire family group or for hardcopies to be mailed. The USGenWeb Project volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests. Lookups can extend to searching the copyrighted material to determine if the material would be helpful to the requester in their research. Should the copyrighted material prove useful, the volunteer can provide the author's address and ordering information. Please remember to thank the Look-up volunteer!
