Also known as Plains Yoakum County Cemetery
In 1906, W. J. Luna fenced off 5 acres of land for a cemetery on Section 391 near the town of Plains. Mr. Luna's wife is the first person buried there. In 1957 the Yoakum County Cemetery Association was organized and 5 more acres of land were donated by Dr. E.W. Jones, for additional cemetery space. The Cemetery Association with the help of local officials developed the cemetery into an attractive burial site.
