I am looking for information as to my mother's father, his brother, and family. My mother is Mary Berta (Ainsworth) Chesshire, born 1917, in Personville, Tx and died 1989 in Monterey Calif. Her father was Will (William) Ainsworth and he had a twin brother, John. Will married Lillie Ethel Clark around 1915. They had my mother and another daughter, my aunt Sissy (Willie Ainsworth Walker) . Will died Jan.1919? during the flu epidemic. My grandmother remarried a couple of years later to a man named Johnny Williams. His brother John lived on, married, had a family, and I understand he lived in and around Limestone County until he died. There are a few Ainsworth's with roots in and around Limestone County but, I cannot make a connection to any of them. It seems the trail ends before Will and John and their parents are mentioned. Time and distance have erased the family connection. Can anyone out there help me?

I’ve been searching for the grave plot of Martha A. Irwin BURKS, thinking that she might be buried in either Limestone or Leon County. The reason for my search is to determine my Grandmother’s birth date. Right now, her death cert says she was born in 1883, but that’s not possible if Martha died in 1881 (according to other Ancestry sites). Could you perhaps give me some clues on where I might look. Thanks Ron Langenberg (grandson of Buelah Dawn Burks Langenberg)

Hello....I am the great-granddaughter of Samuel Beard RISIEN who died on the Titanic in 1912. He lived in Groesbeck from about 1870 on. I cannot find any listing (so far) on him, his brother Alfred, his first wife, Mary Louisa Lellyet Risien, his second wife, Emma Jane Lellyet Risien, nor a son, Alford, or a nephew, Percy Risien. I do have census information, an obituary. I have marriage records; no divorce and no death certificates. Surely, somewhere there is more information. I use Ancestry.com, GenWeb, FamilySearch. I have been to Groesbeck County Courthouse and the library (10 years ago), but was not too adept at finding information. I just looked at the GenWeb Cemetery lists and there are no Risiens. Alfred and his wife, Madora Runnels Risien both died at the turn of the century (last). No listing for them. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks so much. Frances E. Reynolds

My great grandmother was Sarah Frances Lee Pennington Russell of Buffalo, Leon Co. Her parents were Isaac Lee and Martha J. Deaton. Isaac and his brothers and all their families (well, it is my assumption they were all brothers) came to Texas in the late 1840's and may have been members of Mercer Colony. The brothers are Jeremiah, Robert, Peter, Jacob, Alfred, Levi and of course, Isaac. I believe their father was
John. They were all born in Illinois and have been linked to in the Illinois census of 1830 and the Missouri census of 1840. All are found in the census records of 1850 in Limestone County - except Robert who is in Robertson County. Subsequent census' find most of them in Bell, Limestone, Falls, Freestone and Robertson Counties. It is believed
Jeremiah died shortly after arriving in Texas, Peter in the 1850's and Robert maybe in the Civil War. Muster rolls have been found for Levi, Robert, Isaac, "Jerry" and a couple Johns that are likely children of Robert and Peter.

I am wondering if anybody has studied Lee families of the region, and if so, if they might offer some insight. I know there are a lot of Lee's Lou Ann Naut

My name is Noel R. Jones, retired and currently living in Louisiana. I am looking for information on my family (JONES) history. I am almost certain Will SHELTON, 1/22/1859 - 7/9/1951 is my great uncle. He is buried at Fort Parker. My question has to do with his wife Elizabeth Jones Shelton, born c 1861. One researcher said they believed she was buried at Fort Parker. There is a M. E. Shelton listed at Fort Parker with a birth date of 6/10/1861. If this is Will's wife then possibly they are buried next to each other. Thank you for any help or information you can give me. Noel R Jones

I am a descendent of Wiley and Phebe Vinson, both of whom are buried in the Vinson Cemetery near Thornton. I have read on the web that the Fox-Darden Family Association has placed themselves in charge of maintaining this cemetery because they, too, are descendents of the Vinsons. I would like to get in touch with this family. I have names and dates on my family tree but very little in the way of "life" stories. Maybe someone in the Fox-Darden family has history to share. Please email me Thanks. Marcia Amend
