William H. Magill

Veteran of the Texas Revolution

Member of the Mina Volunteers, as second sergeant in Captain Jesse Billingsley's Company and later in Captain Calvin Boales' ranging company, in the Texas War of Independence. He received land in Burnet County for services rendered in the war.

He married first, Rebecca Pensonala in Kentucky, with whom he had six children. He married second, Elizabeth Alice Hedrick, who bore him 10 children.

Capt. Magill was also commander of the Home Guard during the Civil War.
