Letter of Condolence from the Government

 


Private Vernon Williamson lost his life in Oct. 1944 as a P.O.W. aboard the Japanese transport ship Arisan Maru when sunk by the U.S.S. Snook (unaware that it was carrying 1800 P.O.W.s). [Photo Arisan Maru]

His cousin J. H. Frasier was also a P.O.W. and the two were together for a time as prisoners in the Philippines. Read J. H. Frasier's account of those terrible times HERE.
