Willis BRUMLEY,
Sr., migrated to Hopkins County, Texas, about 1848. About 1854,
Willis and his wife, Sarah, sold their farm in Hopkins County,
and moved to Wood County. Willis and Sarah had at least five
children: James Barton, Malinda Jane, Berry, Nelson, and Willis
Brumley, Jr. Other children may have settled in the east Texas
area. It was rumored that when Sarah BRUMLEY died in 1857, her
body was taken by way of wagon and a team of oxen, to Mount Vernon,
Texas, for burial. It is believed Willis Brumley Sr. died in
1861 and was buried in the Quitman, Texas area. Any and all help
on this family needed.
