Seeking information on Samguel G. HOWARD, and his daughter, Mary Elizabeth HOWARD. Mary Elizabeth married James Baker in 1874. Samuel G. Howard and Nancy Jane Parker were married in Nacogdoches County on August 18, 1848. S.G. Howard is found on the 1850 Nacogdoches County census, with wife, Nancy J. and one child, Lorenzo. By the time of the 1860 census, the S.G. Howard family is in Wood County, TX with several children, including Mary E. Land records indicate that Samuel G. Howard was in Wood County in 1861 and in 1868. By 1870, I believe Samuel had been killed; wife Nancy and several of the same children on the 1860 census in Wood County, are now in Falls County, TX. Mary Elizabeth is Not with this family at the time of the census. My grand mother, Willa Arena Howard Richbourg, left a hand written note saying that her Grandfather Howard was killed along with his brother. I am copying the note below. I have typed in a question mark in places that I couldn’t make out the words, and have left the punctuation as it was: "Grand Father Howard and brother were Black Smiths to gather his ‘?’ neighbor had a fist fight separated and made friends the neighbor came back with several friends of his came back and killed both Howard men, all of the men were later killed some hung. Mother's mother was ‘?’ and very ‘?’.

Looking for some information about a W J HOLLAND and Francis or Fannie PRINCE. Mrs. Prince married name is HANSON. Would appreciate any information on when W J Holland and Francis Hanson died. Also Mrs Hanson could have married again and her last name could be Jabe or Jobe. Both lived in Hawkins Wood County. Mrs. Prince's father was James Prince and Mr. Hollands parents are unknown but he was married I think three times. First time in Georgia to a Sallie Avery, second time to a Salonia? Beavers and the third time to a Samantha Palmer or Smith.

I recently acquired my great-grandmother's photo album. Her name was Roxie MOODY. I believe that she inherited the album from her mother Betty Ford HAYES. Several of the photos were taken in Mineola, Texas. Some of the photos have notations identifying the subjects. These subjects include: Jim HAYES, Minnie HAYES, Lee HAYES, Lillie RUSSUM baby, F.W. LEACH, and Kathlyn HOUSE. Although I would assume that most of these are relatives, particularly the ones marked HAYES I do not know. I do not have any information on any of these individuals. Timothy Lee HOLT. or Tim HOLT, but went by the name T.L. HOLT. He said that his wife had died, leaving him with all the children including an infant. He couldn't care for all of them, so gave some of them 2 or 3 up for adoption and kept the others. She thought she remembered him saying there were 5 or 6 kids total in the family, and Alice and Inez were two of the ones he kept. Inez had Red Hair. Alice Arlene HOLT married Cecil Robert BAKER of Kansas, but she was pretty sure that Cecil met Alice in Alba,Texas, and was married in New Mexico in 1929. Then moved to Kansas later. The only date I have to go on is Alice Arlene HOLT was born 26 Apr 1907 in Alba Texas, and died 18 Jun 1978 In Eureka, California. Her Husband, and Father of her only two children that we know of Cecil Robert BAKER was born in Kansas on 21 Sept 1902 and died in Wallowa Oregon on 5 Oct 1948 Alice Arlene married twice before my grandfather Cecil Robert BAKER. The first two are unknown, but must have been between 1923-1928. The first guy was shot and killed by his own father just 2 weeks after Alice and Him were married. The second guy was also killed a month after they were married. Both of these prior husbands were from.. or lived near Alba, Texas. What I would like to know was who was T.L.'s wife when he had Alice Arlene Holt, who was born in Tyler, Texas I know that T.L. HOLT was married to Vi ROSCOE in 1926 when he had a son Clarence Holt in Wood County, Texas, this shows in the birth records on your website for Wood County. Would like to know who the children of T.L. Holts were before Vi Roscoe

Can someone with the books see if they are listed? Ed Note: The reference is incorrect; however, an Edward J. McDade is buried in Salem Cemetery (Vol 4, pg 139). His inscription reads, "Corp Co B 19 LA Inf C.S.A." No dates. Mary Watts McDade is not listed.

Looking for additional information about Kate WILSON and her daughters. In 1880 she was a hotelkeeper, listed in Precinct 2 in Wood county Texas. She listed her age as 55, so she born about 1825, in Ireland. She had two daughters living with her. One daughter was listed as L. GONZALES, born Ireland about 1852. Her name may have been Lillie. She had two children, a daughter Romanse, age 4, and a son John, age 3, both born in Texas. The father is listed as born in Spain. The second daughter was Tillie WILSON, born about 1861 in New York State. I believe That Kate’s husband was John Wilson and the family came to the United States between 1856 and 1860 from the Dublin Ireland area. John is thought to have returned to Ireland about 1875, where he died. Would appreciate any information on this family. Would also like to know what portion of Precinct 2 of Wood County was covered by Supervisor District 2, Enumeration District 125.

Seeking information on the William C. PIERSON b. 1840 AL who appears on the 1880 Wood Co. census. He may be the same William C. Pierson who married into my Reeves line in Rusk Co. TX in 1860. He m. Julia Ann Reeves. She does not appear on the 1880 Wood Co. so I assume she passed away or left the family prior to this time. It appears one of the Pierson children is named Josephine which is the name of Julia's mother, so I think I have the right family. Other Piersons in Precinct 4 on the 1880 census include Ida L., b. 1854 TN; Willie Mims (m) b. 1876 TX; Lizzie b. 1878 TX; James H. b. 1852 TX; Lona O. b. 1876 TX; Maggie L.
