Joseph W RAY born Sept 1847 in GA. He married Georgia A JONES, daughter of J JONES and S GILBERT. She was born Sept 1852 in Coweta Co., GA. She had ten children. Surnames: FAULCONER, FAULKNER Researcher:Carlton Faulconer Email:rcf711@cox.net Date posted: Monday, October 25, 2004 Archibald FAULKNER (FAULCONER) is my Great-grandfather who is shown as a private in the 1st company "rough riders." He is number 29 on one list and then number 35 on another list. My Greatgranfather Charles Harper who was a surgeon also was in the confederate war. Both of them served in company "A" which was conscripted in April of 1863. They both had farms in Wood County. I don't understand why Archibald would be shown in this 1st company. I have 3 letters from Archibald written to my great-grandmother, All three were sent to Winnesbour (sic) post office. She applied for a widows pension and gave the letters as proof Archibald was in the Confederate Army. The court documents also show the testimony of 2 soldiers who served with Archibald, that he served honorable, He mentions several people in his letters that are involved in the war. One he comments on is General Lane who is one of the well know officers of the civil war. He gives exact details about where he and his unit was and who he was serving under. Basically Co "A" Second partisan Rangers "Stones Regiment" Majors Brigade, Greens Division. Can anyone help me with my confusion. Was the unit that is is shown as a part of "1st company ever actually active in the civil war? If so why did he wind up in Company "A" Stones Regiment?

She married William Joseph PERRITT (1874-1952) in 1894. I have found a Margaret Blalock of similar age on the 1880 Wood County Census in the household of William R. and Letty Blalock but I don't know if this is the same person.

I would like to share what I have that may be of interest to others. My Greatgrandfather John Alexander Boykin had 14 or more children. I feel the best process on finding more about him and his wives is to put the information on US Gen web and see what happens. I have some photos and will be glad to share those also. I work with a cousin Stephanie Bertani who is also interested in finding more about the family members. John A. Boykin Married Caroline BROWN and was our Great Grandparents. We really wish to know more about her!
