Her only child, Joseph Emmett CATRON, was born in Rains Co. on 30 May 1902. 1880 Rains Co. census lists Josephine as inf. of Charles & Mary RHODES and shows both parents born in Texas; the census shows all parents' parents to be born in Alabama. Seeking any other info. on Charles E. and Mary A. FRANKLIN RHODES.

My great grandfather, Marius MADSEN (born 1843, died 1929), is buried at the Sand Spring Cemetery with his wife and three of his sons, Casper, David and Elliot MADSEN. I know that Marius and his wife Mina migrated to the US from either Norway or Denmark, but do not know when. I do not know if my grandfather Oscar Joseph MADSEN, was born in the US, Norway or Denmark. I know that they had a farm in Mineola. Any information on this family would be appreciated.

I am particularly trying to determine if his daughter, Emily F., born 1836, is also known as Frances, who married James A. BOYD about 1855 in Wood County. James & Frances BOYD are shown on the 1860 Wood County Census, but I have not been able to conclusively tie Frances to the Johnson WEEMS family. Frances is also shown on the 1870 Wood County Census as a widow with five children. I have not been able to find her after that point. I am trying to determine if she remarried and when and where she died. Her five children were still in Wood County in 1880. I would like to connect with other researchers or descendants of this family.

Searching for anyone with information on the AUTREY and ALEXANDER families. William Absalom AUTREY, born 1866 in Dubach, La. (son of Robert Martin Autrey and Elizabeth Kemp)married Mary Mae HILL ALEXANDER in 1907 in Bowie County, Texas. He died in Garza County, Texas but she moved to Wood County and lived in Gladewater until her death in 1974 and was buried in Hawkins, Texas. Cobb, 74, dies, interment is at Hopewell -- Funeral services for Thomas Cleveland Cobb, 74, who died Monday in an Athens hospital, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in McCrary-Waggoner-Edwards Chapel with the Rev Paul Weisinger and Rev D.E. Wallace officiating. Interment was in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Cobb was born March 13, 1886 in Hopkins County. A resident of Athens for the pat 9 months, Mr. Cobb operated a grocery story there. Previous to moving to Athens, he had livbed in Canton for 5 years, and in Commerce for 25 years. Before moving from the Winnsboro area, he ran a grocery story in the Pleasant Grove Community. On July 12, 1908, he was married to Miss Ethel Wilson, who survives. Survivors other than his wife, Mrs. Ethel Cobb of Athens, include 3 sons, Melvin Cobb of Dallas, Paul Cobb and Granville Cobb of Houston, 2 brothers, Ocie Cobb and Lonnie Cobb of Winnsboro, and 5 grandchildren. Pallbears were nephews Paul Cobb, Roscoe Cobb, Charles Cobb, james Cobb, J.P. Cobb, Vernice Cobb, Kenneth Green, and Bill Harris.

Davenport -- Mineola -- Funeral services for Elder Steven Clarence Davenport, 94, of Mineola, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the J.H. English Funeral Chapel. Elder John Lee Smith of the Primitive Church of Spearville, LA, will officiate. Assisting will be Elder R.W. Rhodes of Spearsville. Mr. Davenport died Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. in a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a retired minister of the Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Lena Frances Davenport of Mineola, two sons, Harmon Davenport of Denver, Co, and Jim Davenport of Dallas, 4 daughters, Mrs. Christene Faulk, Mrs. Willie Oler, both of El Paso, Mrs. Georgia Crow of Kerrville, and Mrs. Clarence Lewis of Tyler. 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Hinson, born Feb 8, 1891 in Winnsboro, Texas, died Sept 12, 1986 in Irving, buried in Hopewell Cemetery... Barnie, Desser were married Dec 22, 1907 in Pleasant Grove, Texas, and two sons were born of this union, Kenneth Harlan Green, Sr., and Felton Taylor Green... Kenneth is my father... both brothers are deceased and have more info on them if you need it... I believe Barnie Taylor Green had a brother named Arthur Green, and I don't know if there were other brothers and sisters, and do not know names... I believe the father of Barnie Taylor Green is a Henry R. Green, who married a woman named Elizabeth with either the last name Taylor or Taylor in the name or family (not sure)... I believe she was born Oct 4, 1859 in Georgia, but here again, not sure... Desser E. Hinson had several brothers and sisters, but the only one I can identify at this time is a T.P. Hinson... I believe Desser's parents were an Everett Hinson and a Lizzie Cobb.

Mollie PENNINGTON MARKS may have been a midwife in the community of Yantis. She delivered her future daughter in law in 1903 at Yantis in Wood Co TX. George Washington MARKS and Mary Ann PENNINGTON MARKS are buried in the Long Cemetery in Hopkins Co TX. He died in 1934 and she died in 1942.

I didn't have a chance to check out Hopkins County, Texas marriage records for James Maddison BLACK and Sarah to find out what her last name was.
