I am trying to obtain information about my father's family. My father's name was Jackson F. JONES Jr. and he lived in Mineola, Texas from 1908 to 1920. His father's name was Jackson F. JONES Sr. and he worked for the Texas & Pacific Railroad and was killed in a train wreck or fire in either 1912 or 1918. He is buried in the Mineola City Cemetery (grave unmarked) along with my grandmother Cora Shelby JONES who died in either 1922 or 1928. My father had two brothers; Rex L. JONES born in Longview,Texas in 1904; and Charlie P. JONES born in Mineola, Texas in 1910. There was also a half-brother Morris J. JONES born in either 1892 or 1893 who was killed in the same train wreck as my grandfather. If you have any information about the JONES family of Mineola, Texas that you can find. I am especially interested in the train wreck of 1912 or 1918. Also, the 1920 census would be helpful. Also, it is possible that the Rex L. JONES I mentioned was killed in a shooting in 1920 (there are conflicting stories if he survived or not). If you know of any death records concerning this name or old newspaper accounts of this shooting, I would be very interested.
